Why does an app say a deposit is above the maximum limit?
Answer
This is a limit set by the app or its payment provider, not a fault. Limits are usually per transaction, per day, and per month, and are often lower for new or unverified accounts. Completing identity verification typically raises them; otherwise smaller amounts will go through.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Never send money or details to anyone offering to raise your limits. Only the app itself can change them.
Follow these steps
Try a smaller amount
Attempt a noticeably smaller transaction to confirm a limit rather than a payment failure.
You should see: The smaller amount is accepted.
Find the stated limits
Look in the app's help or account section for deposit limits, and note which one you exceeded.
You should see: You know which limit applies.
Complete identity verification
If the app offers verification, complete it. Limits usually rise once an account is verified.
You should see: Higher limits are applied to the account.
Check any self-imposed limit
Some apps let users set their own caps. Check whether one is enabled on the account.
You should see: Any user-set cap is identified.
Check with your bank
Banks apply their own per-transaction and daily limits, which can produce a similar refusal.
You should see: You know which side is limiting it.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether the app states which limit was hit — per transaction, daily, or monthly — since each has a different remedy.
Before you change anything: Have identification ready if the app offers verification, and check whether your bank also applies its own limit.
