Why won't one Samsung Galaxy Buds earbud charge or connect?
Answer
A single bad bud is usually dirty charging contacts, a poorly seated fit in the case, or a bud that needs a reset—not always a dead battery. Clean the contacts, charge for at least 30 minutes with a known-good cable, then reset the buds in the Galaxy Wearable app or by the official case reset method.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not use liquids inside the microphone or speaker mesh; moisture can permanently damage earbuds.
Follow these steps
Inspect and clean contacts
Remove both earbuds and inspect the metal charging contacts on the bad bud and inside that side of the case. Wipe gently with a dry cotton swab or soft cloth to remove wax and debris.
You should see: Contacts look clean and the bud sits flush in the case.
Charge with a known-good cable
Try a different USB cable and power adapter for the case, seat both buds firmly, close the lid, and charge for at least 30 minutes.
You should see: The case LED shows charging, and the previously dead bud gains battery percentage in the app.
Reset the Galaxy Buds
Open the Galaxy Wearable app and use Reset, or follow Samsung’s official reset steps for your Buds model (often involving the case and touch pads). Pair again afterward.
You should see: Both buds appear, connect, and play balanced audio.
Seek warranty help if one bud stays dead
If one bud still will not charge or connect after cleaning, charging, and reset, contact Samsung or the seller with the model and serial/purchase details for replacement options.
You should see: Support confirms repair, replacement, or next diagnostics.

Extra tips
What to look for: Debris on metal contacts, LED behavior when the lid opens, and whether Galaxy Wearable shows only one bud battery.
Before you change anything: Confirm the exact Galaxy Buds model. Avoid sharp metal tools on the contacts. Charge with a working USB cable and adapter. Do not disassemble the earbud housings.
