Why won't a Bluetooth speaker connect to a tablet?

Put the speaker properly into pairing mode rather than simply switching it on — most need the Bluetooth button held until the light flashes rapidly. If the speaker was ever paired with another device, that device may be grabbing it first, so switch its Bluetooth off while you pair.

Follow these steps
Turn off Bluetooth on other devices
Switch Bluetooth off on any phone or computer the speaker has been paired with, so it cannot reconnect automatically.
You should see: The speaker is free to pair with something new.
Force pairing mode
Hold the speaker's Bluetooth or pairing button until the light flashes rapidly, which usually takes several seconds.
You should see: The light indicates it is discoverable.
Forget it on the tablet
In the tablet's Bluetooth settings, forget the speaker if it is already listed, then scan again.
You should see: The speaker appears as a new device.
Connect and confirm
Select the speaker and accept any pairing prompt. Play something to confirm audio routes to it.
You should see: Sound plays through the speaker.
Reset the speaker if needed
If it still fails, follow the model's reset procedure to clear all its stored pairings, then pair as new.
You should see: The speaker pairs cleanly.
