How do I check whether an old Myzone MZ-3 or MZ-Switch still charges?

Answer

Confirm the model first. For an MZ-3 or MZ-Switch, try its supplied charging cable through a computer USB port and watch the light. Flashing red changing to green indicates charging completed. If it stays unresponsive, test another compatible cable and contact Myzone.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not open the module or attempt a battery replacement.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the model and condition

Read the module’s model marking before connecting anything. If it is another model, use its own manual. Stop if the casing is damaged, swollen, or leaking.

You should see: You have an intact MZ-3 or MZ-Switch suitable for a cautious charging test.

  2. Connect the correct charger

Follow Myzone’s MZ-3 and MZ-Switch charging guide. Attach the supplied cable to the module’s right-side snap and connect its USB end to a computer USB port.

You should see: The charging indicator begins flashing red.

  3. Watch for completed charging

The guide says charging should take approximately two hours maximum. Remove the module when the light turns green. If the light never appears or behaves differently, stop and test a different compatible charging cable as described in the Myzone FAQ.

You should see: The light turns green, or you identify a persistent charging fault.

  4. Check retention and get support if needed

After disconnecting, check whether the module responds and retains power. If it will not hold a charge or remains unresponsive with another cable, contact Myzone through its official support. Its FAQ says worn module batteries cannot be replaced.

You should see: You know whether the device works again or needs Myzone’s replacement guidance.

Extra tips

What to look for: The model name, charging-light behavior, and whether the module retains power afterward.

Before you change anything: Find the model and original charging cable. These charging instructions cover MZ-3 and MZ-Switch only. The estimate covers inspection and starting the test, not the full charging period.
