How do I find and cancel unwanted subscriptions on an iPhone?

Answer

On iPhone, open Settings or the App Store subscriptions page to see Apple-billed subscriptions and cancel any you do not want; also check Google Play or carrier bills for non-Apple charges.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not share your Apple ID password or codes with subscription-cancellation cold callers.

Follow these steps

  1. Open Apple Subscriptions settings

Go to Settings, tap your name, then tap Subscriptions. On some iOS versions you can also open the App Store, tap your photo, then Subscriptions.

You should see: You see a list of active and expired Apple subscriptions.

  2. Cancel each unwanted subscription

Tap a subscription you do not want, choose Cancel Subscription, and confirm. Repeat for each unwanted item.

You should see: Status shows canceled or set to expire at period end.

  3. Check non-Apple billing sources

Review bank/card statements for merchants not listed under Apple Subscriptions, then cancel those on the merchant site, Google Play, or carrier account as appropriate.

You should see: Non-Apple recurring charges are identified and canceled.

  4. Confirm the next statement

After the current billing period ends, verify the charges stop on your next statement.

You should see: Unwanted renewals no longer appear.

Extra tips

What to look for: A Subscriptions list showing app names and renewal dates, and matching charges on your card statement

Before you change anything: Decide which subscriptions you still need. Note renewal dates before canceling. Canceling stops future billing but may not refund the current period. Never share Apple ID passwords with unexpected callers.
