How do I add a BigPond or Telstra email account on an iPhone?

Add the BigPond address in iOS Mail using the full email as the username and Telstra’s IMAP/SMTP servers. You can run BigPond and Yahoo accounts side by side. Reset the Telstra mail password online if sign-in keeps failing.
Follow these steps
Verify or reset the mailbox password
On a browser, sign into your Telstra account and confirm the BigPond/Telstra email exists. Use Forgot password if needed and set a new mail password.
You should see: You have a working BigPond password before adding it to iOS.
Add the account in iOS Mail
Go to Settings > Apps > Mail > Mail Accounts > Add Account (wording may be Settings > Mail > Accounts). Choose Other > Add Mail Account if Telstra is not listed.
You should see: The new account form opens.
Enter the full address as the username
Fill Name, the full email address, and password. For IMAP, use Telstra’s published incoming server (commonly imap.telstra.com) and outgoing SMTP server with the full email as the username on both.
You should see: iOS verifies the account without a username/password error.
Keep Yahoo and BigPond together
Leave the existing Yahoo account enabled. In Mail, confirm both accounts appear and can send a test message from BigPond.
You should see: Both accounts work side by side.
Retry after a password sync delay
If verification still fails right after a reset, wait a few minutes, restart the iPhone, and add the account again with the full address and new password.
You should see: The account adds successfully after the password propagates.
