How do I stop an iPhone from signing in or joining as a guest?

Sign out of the Guest or temporary session, then sign in with the correct Apple ID or app account from Settings or the app’s account screen. On shared or school-managed iPhones, ask the organizer to assign a personal session because Guest mode intentionally keeps data temporary.

Follow these steps
Identify where Guest appears
Note whether Guest is shown on the iPhone lock/setup flow, in Settings, or only inside one app such as a browser, streaming, or shared-device screen.
You should see: You know if the Guest state is system-wide or limited to one app.
Check the Apple ID in Settings
Open Settings and look at the top for your name/Apple ID. If it asks you to sign in, sign in with the correct Apple ID. If another person’s account is there on a borrowed phone, stop and use your own device or a proper sign-out only with their permission.
You should see: Settings shows the intended Apple ID, or you can see why the phone is still in a temporary state.
Leave Guest mode in the affected app
Open the app that says Guest, find Account or Profile, choose Sign out or Exit Guest, then sign in with the correct email or username for that service.
You should see: The app switches from Guest to the named account.
Restart and reopen the service
Restart the iPhone, reopen the same app or service, and confirm it still uses the signed-in account rather than creating a new Guest session.
You should see: The personal account remains signed in after restart.
Ask the organizer on shared devices
If this is a shared, classroom, or managed Apple device that forces Guest sessions, contact the organizer or IT admin to assign a personal user session instead of changing security settings yourself.
You should see: You get a personal session path, or you confirm Guest mode is required on that device.
