How do I put Straight Talk service on a phone?

Answer

Buy a Straight Talk plan or SIM/eSIM from Straight Talk’s official site or store, then activate it with the phone’s IMEI and the new SIM or eSIM in the Straight Talk activation flow. Enter payment only on Straight Talk’s official pages.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not give card numbers to chat agents outside Straight Talk’s official payment pages.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the phone can be activated

Check Straight Talk’s bring-your-own-phone tool with the IMEI. If the phone is carrier-locked, ask the old carrier to unlock it first.

You should see: The IMEI is accepted, or you learn an unlock or different device is needed.

  2. Buy the plan officially

Purchase the Straight Talk plan or kit from Straight Talk’s website, app, or authorized retailer. Keep the confirmation and SIM/eSIM details.

You should see: You have an active plan PIN, SIM, or eSIM ready to assign.

  3. Activate to the phone

Start activation on Straight Talk’s official activate page or app, enter the IMEI and SIM/eSIM information, and assign the phone number. Restart the phone when activation completes.

You should see: The phone shows Straight Talk service or a processing message.

  4. Fix no service after activation

Toggle Airplane Mode, confirm the SIM/eSIM line is on, and wait for provisioning. Contact Straight Talk support from the official site if No Service continues after an hour.

You should see: Signal appears, or support finishes provisioning.

Extra tips

What to look for: A phone ready for Straight Talk, with IMEI available, and a need to buy or apply a service plan.

Before you change anything: Confirm the phone is unlocked if moving from another carrier. Have the IMEI from Settings or the dialer code for your phone brand. Use only Straight Talk’s official activation and refill pages. Never give card details to someone claiming to activate service for you in chat.
