How do you finish setting up a Bose Smart Soundbar 600?

Answer

Put the phone on the same 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi you want the soundbar to use, power-cycle the soundbar until the light is ready for setup, then retry adding it in the Bose app close to the bar. Amber for a long stretch usually means it is still waiting on Wi-Fi setup, not TV HDMI yet.

Follow these steps

  1. Power-cycle the soundbar

Unplug the Soundbar 600 for 60 seconds, plug it back in, and wait until the light is steady in the ready-for-setup state described in the Bose quick-start guide.

You should see: The amber searching behavior resets and the bar is ready to be found again.

  2. Prepare the iPhone network

Join the home Wi-Fi network, disable VPN, and keep Bluetooth on. Force-close and reopen the Bose app.

You should see: The phone is on Wi-Fi and the Bose app launches cleanly.

  3. Add the soundbar again in the Bose app

In the Bose app, add or set up new product, select Soundbar 600, and complete Wi-Fi entry when prompted. Stay next to the bar until setup finishes.

You should see: The app finishes setup and the soundbar appears as ready online.

  4. Connect TV audio after Wi-Fi

Use HDMI eARC/ARC to the TV and set the TV audio output to the soundbar once network setup is done.

You should see: TV sound plays through the Bose Soundbar 600.

Extra tips

What to look for: Soundbar 600 shows amber for 10+ minutes, the Bose app finds it inconsistently, and Wi-Fi setup will not finish.

Before you change anything: Place the iPhone within a few feet of the soundbar. Know your Wi-Fi password. Connect HDMI eARC/ARC after network setup if TV sound is the next goal.
