How do I fix a lost connection while transferring service to a new TracFone?

Answer

Sign back into the TracFone app or account, confirm the line status and IMEI/SIM transfer, then retry activation on the new phone with Wi‑Fi if cellular data is down.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not buy activation PINs from unofficial sellers during a stuck transfer.

Follow these steps

  1. Reconnect on Wi‑Fi

Connect the new phone to Wi‑Fi so you can open the TracFone app even if cellular service is not active yet.

You should see: The app or website loads.

  2. Check account and line status

Sign in and open Account or Balance Summary to see whether the line is active, pending transfer, or still on the old device.

You should see: You know the current transfer state.

  3. Sign out and sign back in

In the TracFone app, sign out if possible, then sign back in and return to the transfer or activate device flow.

You should see: A fresh session shows the next required activation step.

  4. Resume activation on the new phone

Enter the new phone’s IMEI or confirm the SIM/eSIM when prompted, and wait for the activation complete message before testing calls.

You should see: The line shows active on the new device.

  5. Contact TracFone support if still pending

If the account stays stuck mid-transfer, contact TracFone through the official in-app help with your account number and explain the interrupted transfer.

You should see: Support completes or resets the transfer.

Extra tips

What to look for: Line status in the TracFone app, whether the new phone shows No Service, and any transfer reference still pending

Before you change anything: Keep both phones nearby if the old one still powers on. Have the account phone number and purchase/transfer details ready. Use official TracFone app or website only.
