What should I do if my iPhone is lost and I need carrier customer service?
Answer
Use Find My on iCloud.com from another device to locate or mark the phone lost, then contact your carrier through their official website using the account phone number or account PIN—not random numbers from ads.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Scammers may call claiming they found your phone and ask for Apple ID codes—do not share codes.
- Erasing the iPhone remotely deletes data on the device; mark Lost first if you still hope to recover it.
Follow these steps
Check Find My on the web
On another device, open iCloud.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and open Find Devices / Find iPhone.
You should see: The lost iPhone appears as online or offline on a map.
Mark as Lost and protect the device
Select the phone, choose Mark as Lost, set a contact number and message, and confirm Activation Lock remains on.
You should see: The phone is locked to your Apple ID and shows your message if found.
Find official carrier support
On the carrier’s official website (search the carrier name + support from a careful source, or open a past bill email), locate Mobile support contact options.
You should see: You have an official chat, callback, or phone path.
Ask the carrier to suspend the line if needed
Verify your account and request a suspend or lost-device hold so others cannot use your number or data plan.
You should see: The line is suspended or flagged lost.
Replace service on a new phone later
When you have a replacement phone, ask the carrier to transfer the number using the account PIN and new device IMEI/eSIM process.
You should see: Service moves to the replacement device.

Extra tips
What to look for: The phone’s status in Find My, and the official support link for your carrier brand
Before you change anything: Use a trusted computer or borrowed phone. Have your Apple ID and carrier account information ready. Do not share one-time codes with unexpected callers.
