How do I fix Netflix error NW-2-5 on a Hisense TV?
Answer
Power-cycle the Hisense TV for two minutes, restart the router, check again for a system update, then sign out and back into Netflix.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- A full TV factory reset removes apps and accounts—use it only after these steps fail.
- Do not install Netflix from unknown APK sites.
Follow these steps
Power-cycle the TV fully
Turn the Hisense TV off, unplug it from the wall for a full 2 minutes, then plug it back in and power on.
You should see: The TV restarts from a cold boot.
Restart the modem/router
Unplug the modem/router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, wait until internet is restored, then confirm the TV rejoins Wi‑Fi or Ethernet.
You should see: The TV has a fresh network connection.
Check for a system update again
Open Settings > About > System Update or Settings > Support > System Update and install anything offered, even if it previously said current.
You should see: Any pending system/app update installs, or currency is reconfirmed.
Sign out of Netflix and back in
Open Netflix if possible, sign out, restart the TV, then sign back in.
You should see: Netflix loads without NW-2-5.
Reinstall the Netflix app
If the error remains, uninstall or disable Netflix from the TV’s app list, reinstall from the official app store, and sign in again.
You should see: A fresh Netflix install plays successfully.

Extra tips
What to look for: Netflix error code NW-2-5, and whether other streaming apps open normally
Before you change anything: Note whether only Netflix fails or all streaming apps fail. Avoid factory-resetting the TV until power and update checks are done. Use official Netflix and Hisense menus only.
