How do I reinstall apps that did not transfer to a new iPhone?

Sign in with the same Apple ID used before, open the App Store profile Purchased or Not on This iPhone list, and reinstall apps from there. Check iCloud backup status only if you expected a full restore.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Erasing the new iPhone to restore a backup deletes what is already set up on it.
- Never give your Apple ID password to someone who calls about missing apps.
Follow these steps
Confirm the Apple ID
Open Settings, tap your name at the top, and verify the email is the same Apple ID you used on the old iPhone.
You should see: The correct Apple ID is signed in.
Reinstall from Purchased / Not on This iPhone
Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, open Purchased or My Apps, filter to Not on This iPhone if shown, and tap the cloud/download icon for each app you need.
You should see: Apps begin installing on the Home Screen.
Check iCloud backup expectations
Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Account Storage or Backups and see whether a recent backup from the old phone exists.
You should see: You know whether a full restore is possible or only app reinstall is available.
Sign into apps individually
Open key apps after install and sign in with their own accounts (email, banking, chat) because app binaries transfer separately from in-app logins.
