How do I sign in to a purchased Norton 360 subscription on an Android phone?

Answer

Usually the subscription has to be activated and tied to one Norton account, and the phone has to sign in to that same account. If you bought it from Norton.com or a store, activate it at my.norton.com/home/setup first. Then open the Norton 360 app on the phone, tap Sign in, and use the same account. If the app asks for a product key, use Already purchased? in the app.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Phone numbers shown in pop-ups, unexpected emails, or search ads for Norton support can be scams. Use my.norton.com or the Norton 360 app's own help instead of calling a number you did not look up yourself.

Follow these steps

  1. Find out how you bought the subscription

Check your purchase email, receipt, or the box for a 25-character product key. If you bought through Google Play, the subscription is tied to that Google Play account rather than a product key. Note which email address or Google Play account you used.

You should see: You know whether you bought from Norton.com or a store (which uses a product key) or through Google Play, and which account the purchase belongs to.

  2. Activate the product key in a browser

If you bought from Norton.com or a retail store, open https://my.norton.com/home/setup in a browser on any device. Enter the 25-character product key, choose Next, then sign in with your account email and password, or select Create an account if you do not have one. This follows the activation steps in Norton's activation article.

You should see: The setup page moves past the product key step, and the subscription is linked to the Norton account you signed in with.

  3. Install and open Norton 360 on the phone

On the Android phone, install the Norton 360 app from Google Play if it is not already installed, then open it.

You should see: The app opens to its welcome or sign-in screen, where a Sign in option is shown.

  4. Sign in with the same account

Tap Sign in and log in with the same account email and password you used in the browser step. If a list of active subscriptions appears, select the subscription you want and tap Next.

You should see: The sign-in succeeds, and the subscription is shown as active on the phone, or the app moves on to setting up protection.

  5. Use Already purchased? if sign-in is not enough

If you did not activate in the browser, tap Already purchased?, then Enter a product key, type the 25-character key, and tap Next. If the purchase was made through Google Play, make sure the phone is signed in to that Google Play account, tap Already purchased?, then tap Restore from Google Play.

You should see: The app accepts the key or restores the Google Play purchase, and the subscription appears on the phone.

  6. Check the subscription status

Tap Account at the bottom of the main screen to see the subscription status. If it says the subscription needs renewing, tap Renew and follow the prompts.

You should see: The account screen shows the subscription as active, or it shows a clear renewal message you can act on.

Extra tips

What to look for: The email address used at purchase, whether you have a 25-character product key, and whether the app shows Sign in, Already purchased?, or a list of active subscriptions.

Before you change anything: Find the email address or Google Play account you used when you bought the subscription. Find the 25-character product key from the box or the purchase email, if you have one. Make sure the phone has an internet connection before you activate. Go to my.norton.com or open the Norton 360 app from Google Play yourself, rather than using a link or phone number from an unexpected message.
