How do I uninstall Guardio from a Samsung phone?

Answer

Restart the phone, open Settings > Apps, select Guardio, and tap Uninstall. If Uninstall is missing or grayed out, disable Device admin/accessibility permissions for Guardio first, force stop it, then uninstall. Turn off related notifications if a leftover prompt remains.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not install unofficial “antivirus removers”; they often add more malware.

Follow these steps

  1. Restart and locate Guardio

Restart the Samsung phone, then go to Settings > Apps and open Guardio (or Guardio Browser Protection / similar listing).

You should see: You see App info with Uninstall, Force stop, and permissions.

  2. Remove admin or accessibility locks

If Uninstall is grayed out, open Settings > Security (or Biometrics and security) > Device admin apps and deactivate Guardio. Also check Settings > Accessibility for Guardio services and turn them off.

You should see: Guardio no longer has admin/accessibility control that blocks removal.

  3. Force stop and uninstall

Return to Settings > Apps > Guardio, tap Force stop, then Uninstall. Confirm removal.

You should see: Guardio disappears from the app list.

  4. Clear leftover notifications

Go to Settings > Notifications and disable any remaining Guardio-related categories. Place a test call to confirm answering works normally.

You should see: Calls and notifications behave without Guardio prompts.

Extra tips

What to look for: Guardio in Settings > Apps; grayed-out Uninstall; Device admin apps list; Accessibility services; call-screening overlays.

Before you change anything: Restart once before changing admin permissions. Uninstall only Guardio—not unrelated system apps. If a different suspicious app appeared with Guardio, note its name too. Do not download “Guardio remover” APKs from random sites.
