Why does my iPhone say No Service?
Answer
No Service usually means the iPhone is not registered on the carrier network. Toggle Airplane Mode, confirm Cellular is on, briefly reset Network Selection to Automatic, then restart the phone. If it still fails, wait on Settings > General > About to refresh carrier settings and contact the carrier about the SIM or account.
Follow these steps
Toggle Airplane Mode
Open Control Center, turn Airplane Mode on, wait 30 seconds, then turn it off. Wait for the carrier name and signal dots/bars to return.
You should see: The status bar shows your carrier instead of No Service.
Confirm Cellular is enabled
Go to Settings > Cellular (or Settings > Mobile Data) and make sure Cellular / Mobile Data is turned on and the line you use for calls is enabled.
You should see: The cellular line switch is on and available for voice and data.
Reset network selection
Go to Settings > Cellular > Network Selection. Turn Automatic off for about 10 seconds, then turn Automatic back on and let the phone reselect the network.
You should see: The iPhone reattaches to the carrier network automatically.
Restart the iPhone
Power the iPhone off completely, wait 30 seconds, then turn it back on and check the status bar again.
You should see: Service returns after reboot, or No Service remains consistently.
Refresh carrier settings and check the SIM
Open Settings > General > About and stay on that screen for about 30 seconds in case a Carrier Settings Update appears—install it if offered. If No Service continues, reseat a physical SIM or check Settings > Cellular for eSIM status, then contact your carrier to verify the line is active.
You should see: Carrier settings update installs and service returns, or the carrier confirms a SIM/account fix.

Extra tips
What to look for: Status bar text reading No Service (or Searching…), missing carrier name, and failed calls with little or no error detail.
Before you change anything: Note whether Wi-Fi still works while cellular does not. Confirm the SIM or eSIM line should be active on your plan. Avoid erase-all resets until basic cellular steps fail. Never give carrier account codes to unexpected callers offering to restore service.
