Why won't the Govee app find a gateway on iPhone?

Answer

If Govee shows none found, the gateway usually needs a reset into pairing mode, Bluetooth enabled on the iPhone, and both phone and gateway on a workable 2.4 GHz network path.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Do not install unofficial Govee APKs to force pairing.

Follow these steps

  1. Enable Bluetooth and reopen Govee

Turn on Bluetooth, fully close the Govee app, reopen it, and grant any Bluetooth/Local Network prompts.

You should see: Govee is ready to scan with permissions granted.

  2. Power-cycle the gateway

Unplug the gateway for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 2–3 minutes before trying Add Device again.

You should see: The gateway finishes booting and may become discoverable.

  3. Perform a longer reset if needed

If a short reset did nothing and the light stays solid blue, keep the gateway powered and hold the reset pin/button for the full time in Govee’s instructions (often around 5+ seconds) until the LED shows pairing mode.

You should see: The LED indicates pairing/reset mode instead of solid blue only.

  4. Restart Wi‑Fi gear and retry nearby

If discovery still fails, unplug modem and router for 30 seconds, bring modem up first, then router, stand next to the gateway, and run Add Device again.

You should see: The gateway appears in Govee or you contact Govee support with LED behavior notes.

Extra tips

What to look for: App result 'none found', gateway LED behavior during reset, and whether iPhone Bluetooth is on

Before you change anything: Turn on iPhone Bluetooth and Location permissions for Govee if prompted. Place the phone a few feet from the gateway. Know whether your Wi‑Fi is 2.4 GHz capable. Avoid third-party pairing apps.
