How do I authorize someone else to manage an account?
Answer
Most providers offer an authorised user or account manager role, which is added by the account holder and gives the other person the right to make changes. It is not the same as sharing your password — the authorised person gets their own credentials, and you can remove them at any time.
Follow these steps
Find the authorised users section
Sign in and look under account settings for authorised users, account managers, or contacts.
You should see: You can see who currently has access.
Add the person
Enter their name and contact details, and choose the permission level that matches what they need.
You should see: They are listed as authorised.
Set a shared verification word if offered
Some providers use a passphrase the authorised person quotes when calling. Agree one and record it securely.
You should see: They can be verified by phone.
Have them set their own sign-in
Ask them to complete any invitation and create their own credentials rather than using yours.
You should see: Access is traceable to them individually.
Review it periodically
Check the authorised list occasionally and remove anyone who no longer needs access.
You should see: Only current people have access.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether the provider distinguishes between a full account manager and a limited authorised contact, since the permissions differ significantly.
Before you change anything: Decide what the other person should be able to do — view only, make service changes, or also change billing.
