How do I cancel SiriusXM after selling a Subaru Outback?

Answer

Cancel in a browser at the official SiriusXM account site (not only the app): sign in, open Subscription/Account details, and cancel or transfer the trial/subscription. Have the radio ID / ESN from the car’s Sirius screen or old paperwork ready. After a sale, also confirm the subscription is not billed under a new owner’s promotions you no longer want.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Be careful with third-party “cancel for you” services that ask for full account passwords.

Follow these steps

  1. Locate the Radio ID

If you still have vehicle access, open the satellite radio info/ESN screen and photograph the Radio ID. Otherwise check SiriusXM welcome emails or the subscription packing card.

You should see: You have the Radio ID to identify the correct subscription.

  2. Sign in on the official website

In a browser, go to the official SiriusXM site, sign in, and open Account or Subscription details. Prefer the website over the app if the app only shows listen options.

You should see: You see the active plan and renewal status for that Radio ID.

  3. Cancel or end the trial

Choose Cancel Subscription / Manage plan and complete the cancellation prompts. If chat offers a retention deal, decline if you only want to cancel. Save the confirmation email or reference number.

You should see: The account shows a cancel-pending or ended status with an end date.

  4. Watch the next statement

Verify no further SiriusXM charges post after the confirmed end date. If a charge continues, contact SiriusXM through the official account help with your confirmation number.

You should see: Billing stops as confirmed, or support corrects a failed cancel.

Extra tips

What to look for: Radio ID / ESN; SiriusXM account email; Subscription status; cancel or chat options on the official site

Before you change anything: Find the Radio ID in the car’s Satellite Radio info screen if you still have access, or on subscription emails. Use siriusxm.com in Safari/Chrome—not a random call-center upsell number from a search ad. Do not include unrelated personal mailing details in public posts. Keep a cancellation confirmation number.
