How do I connect a T-Mobile internet gateway to a Roku TV?

Answer

Connect the Roku TV to the T-Mobile gateway’s Wi-Fi network from the TV’s network settings, then finish Roku account sign-in on the TV using the on-screen code if asked.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Create the Roku account only through the on-TV prompts or Roku’s official website shown on screen.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the T-Mobile gateway is online

Check the gateway lights or T-Mobile app until the box shows an internet connection. Note the Wi-Fi network name and password on the label.

You should see: The gateway status shows connected and you have the Wi-Fi credentials.

  2. Join the T-Mobile Wi-Fi from the Roku TV

On the Roku TV, open Settings > Network > Wireless, select the T-Mobile network name, and enter the password. Wait until the TV reports Connected.

You should see: Roku shows the network as connected with a successful connection check.

  3. Finish Roku account setup on the TV

Use the TV remote to continue Log In or Sign Up. If Roku shows a code, open the official Roku link page on your phone and enter that code, using your email address for the account.

You should see: The Roku TV reaches the home screen with channels available.

  4. Test streaming

Open a channel or the Roku home screen content and confirm video plays without an immediate network error.

You should see: Streaming starts over the T-Mobile connection.

Extra tips

What to look for: T-Mobile gateway status lights showing connected, the T-Mobile Wi-Fi name on the Roku network list, and any Roku sign-in code screen

Before you change anything: Place the T-Mobile box where it has a strong signal. Note the Wi-Fi name and password on the gateway sticker. Use the Roku TV remote for on-TV setup. Create or sign into Roku with your own email, not a phone number if the screen asks for email.
