How do I download streaming apps on a Samsung smart TV?

Answer

On a Samsung smart TV, open the Apps or Smart Hub store, sign into a Samsung account if asked, search for each streaming app, and install it with the remote.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Enter streaming passwords only inside the official app on the TV, not on unexpected popup sites.

Follow these steps

  1. Open the Samsung Apps store

Press Home on the remote, open Apps or Smart Hub, and select the app store icon.

You should see: The Samsung Apps store opens and shows featured apps or a search field.

  2. Sign into the Samsung account if prompted

If the TV asks you to sign in, choose Sign In and enter the Samsung account, or create an account if you do not have one. Complete any on-screen verification code using your own email or phone.

You should see: The Apps store allows downloads under your Samsung account.

  3. Search and install each streaming app

Use Search to find the first streaming app, select Install, then repeat for the next apps you need, such as Hulu.

You should see: Each app shows Open instead of Install when the download finishes.

  4. Sign into the streaming service inside the app

Open the newly installed app and choose Log In or Sign Up using that service’s own account, not the Samsung account, unless the app specifically links them.

You should see: The streaming app shows its home screen or continue-watching content.

Extra tips

What to look for: The Samsung Apps or Smart Hub store, a Samsung account sign-in prompt, and Install buttons next to apps such as Hulu

Before you change anything: Connect the TV to Wi-Fi or Ethernet. Have Samsung account credentials ready if the store requires them. Have each streaming service login ready separately. Use only the official Apps store on the TV.
