How do I fix a Rain Bird ARC6 that shows Offline and will not reconnect to Wi‑Fi?

Answer

Power-cycle the ARC6, restart the Wi‑Fi router, wait a few minutes, then reopen the Rain Bird app. If it stays Offline, forget and re-add the controller on the same 2.4 GHz network the app expects.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • A factory reset can erase schedules and Wi‑Fi settings—use it only after simpler restarts fail.

Follow these steps

  1. Power-cycle the ARC6

Unplug the ARC6 for about 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait 2–3 minutes for it to boot and attempt Wi‑Fi.

You should see: The controller finishes starting and the app status may change from Offline.

  2. Restart the Wi‑Fi router

Unplug the router for 30 seconds, plug it back in, and wait until Wi‑Fi is fully restored on other devices.

You should see: Phones and computers reconnect to Wi‑Fi normally.

  3. Recheck the Rain Bird app

Force-close the Rain Bird app, reopen it, and pull to refresh the ARC6 status after another 2–3 minutes.

You should see: The controller shows online, or it still shows Offline after a full wait.

  4. Re-add the controller to Wi‑Fi

If still Offline, use the app’s official add/reconnect flow. Connect the phone to the same 2.4 GHz network and complete pairing as prompted.

You should see: The ARC6 appears online in the app again.

Extra tips

What to look for: Red Offline/cloud status in the Rain Bird app, and whether other home devices still have working Wi‑Fi.

Before you change anything: Confirm other phones or devices can use the same Wi‑Fi. Note your Wi‑Fi name and password. Avoid factory-resetting the ARC6 until basic power and router restarts fail.
