Why won’t my JVC TV connect to Wi‑Fi?

Answer

If the TV says it cannot find Wi‑Fi hardware, the wireless module or driver path may have failed—power-cycle the TV and router first, then retry network setup. If the hardware message returns, a USB Wi‑Fi adapter (only if your model supports it) or service/replacement is more realistic than endless password retries.

Follow these steps

  1. Power-cycle TV and router

Unplug the TV for 60 seconds. Reboot the router, wait until Wi‑Fi is back, then plug in the TV and open Network settings to scan for your SSID.

You should see: The TV either lists networks again or repeats the hardware error.

  2. Retry Wi‑Fi with correct band and password

Select your network, enter the password carefully, and prefer 2.4 GHz if the TV is older or far from the router. Skip guest networks that block devices.

You should see: The TV shows Connected, or fails with a clearer password/timeout error.

  3. Use Ethernet to isolate the fault

If the TV has Ethernet, connect a cable to the router. If apps work on Ethernet but Wi‑Fi hardware still errors, the wireless module is the likely failure.

You should see: You confirm whether networking works at all without Wi‑Fi.

  4. Decide on adapter or service

Check the official manual for your JVC model regarding supported USB Wi‑Fi adapters. If hardware-not-found persists and no adapter is supported, contact the retailer/manufacturer for repair or replacement options.

You should see: You have a supported wireless workaround or a service path.

Extra tips

What to look for: Exact error about missing Wi‑Fi hardware; whether other devices join the same SSID; 2.4 GHz vs 5 GHz options; Ethernet working if a port exists.

Before you change anything: Confirm the Wi‑Fi password on a phone. Place the TV closer to the router for testing. Note the full model from the rear label. Avoid random firmware files from unofficial sites.
