What should I check when a Hume Band records other data but no sleep?

Answer

Check whether the band is connected and syncing, then confirm its fit and update the app. If only sleep remains absent, report that specific pattern to Hume rather than treating it as a complete pairing failure.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Avoid deleting the account or resetting the band before confirming how existing unsynced data would be affected.

Follow these steps

  1. Confirm the app sees the band

Open Hume and look for the band’s battery level. Ensure Bluetooth and the app’s Bluetooth permission are enabled, as described in Hume’s quick-start troubleshooting.

You should see: You know whether the app can currently communicate with the band.

  2. Refresh syncing

Keep the charged band near the phone. Close and reopen the Hume app, then allow it to sync. Check your app store for an update. Hume’s FAQ recommends an app restart and updates for sync difficulties.

You should see: You can see whether fresh data appears, including any delayed sleep record.

  3. Check the fit without over-tightening

Wear the band snugly but comfortably, slightly above the wrist bone, with good sensor contact. Hume identifies fit and placement as factors in measurement quality. Do not tighten it excessively to force a reading.

You should see: The band has consistent contact during your next normal use.

  4. Report the sleep-only failure

If other data is current but sleep remains absent, contact support@myhumehealth.com through the quick-start support route. Include missing dates, band model, phone operating system, app version, and the unchanged setup-day message. Ask whether a device-specific action is needed before resetting.

You should see: Support can investigate the missing metric rather than repeating general pairing checks.

Extra tips

What to look for: A visible band battery level, fresh non-sleep data, and which nights have no sleep record.

Before you change anything: Note the dates with missing sleep. Record the app version and band model for support. Keep existing data intact while testing.
