Why can't you see all Messages on an iPhone 13?

Check Filters and Unknown Senders in the Messages list, turn off message filtering if it is hiding threads, and confirm iMessage is signed in. Restart Messages after changing these settings.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Do not delete Unknown Senders threads until you confirm they are spam.
- Never share Apple ID codes with unexpected callers offering to “restore messages.”
Follow these steps
Switch Messages filters to All
Open Messages, tap Filters (or the top-left list control), and choose All Messages instead of Known Senders, Unknown Senders, or Unread.
You should see: Your full conversation list appears.
Turn off unknown-sender filtering
Go to Settings > Messages and turn off Filter Unknown Senders if it is on. Return to Messages and pull down to refresh the list.
You should see: Texts from numbers not in Contacts show in the main inbox.
Confirm iMessage account status
In Settings > Messages, ensure iMessage is on and shows your phone number or Apple ID as sendable. Toggle iMessage off and on if activation looks stuck.
You should see: iMessage shows as activated with your number available.
Restart the iPhone
Power off the iPhone 13, wait 30 seconds, turn it back on, and reopen Messages.
You should see: Previously hidden threads remain visible and new messages arrive.

Extra tips
What to look for: Messages shows only Unknown Senders or a filtered list, while the unread badge count is higher than the threads you can open.
Before you change anything: Note whether iMessage is enabled under Settings > Messages. Do not delete threads while troubleshooting. Know your Apple ID password if you need to resign into iMessage.
