Follow these steps
Install WhatsApp on the current phone

Verify the recovered number
Enter the full Mexican number with country code (+52) exactly, request the SMS code, and enter it yourself. If WhatsApp mentions another phone, back out and restart verification on this device.
You should see: The number verifies and setup continues on this phone.
Restore a cloud backup if offered
When Restore backup appears, sign into the same Google or Apple account used before and restore. If no backup is found, continue without restore—you will keep the number but not old chats.

Confirm account settings
