Why did a channel disappear after changing a streaming plan?

Answer

Channels bought as add-ons are attached to the plan they were added to, so switching plans can drop them. Check your subscription page for which add-ons are still active, then re-add the missing one. If it was part of a bundle, the bundle may need reselecting rather than the channel individually.

Before you start: stop right away if…

  • Manage subscriptions only in the provider's own account pages. Sites offering discounted channel add-ons are commonly fraudulent.

Follow these steps

  1. Check what is currently active

Sign in on the provider's website and open your subscriptions page to see which plan and add-ons are live.

You should see: You can see exactly what you are paying for.

  2. Look for the channel as an add-on

Search the add-ons list for the missing channel and check whether it shows as cancelled or unavailable on your plan.

You should see: You know whether it was detached or cancelled.

  3. Re-add it to the current plan

Add the channel back. Note whether it is offered at the same price as before.

You should see: The channel shows as active again.

  4. Sign out and back in on the TV

On the television, sign out of the app and back in so it collects the updated entitlement.

You should see: The channel appears in the app.

  5. Query any double billing

If you are now charged for both a bundle and the separate channel, contact the provider before the next billing date.

You should see: Billing reflects what you actually use.

Extra tips

What to look for: Whether the missing channel appears in your account as an add-on, part of a bundle, or a separate subscription entirely.

Before you change anything: Note what you were paying before the change, so you can tell whether re-adding costs more.
