How do I find the Wi-Fi password for an LG refrigerator that was never set up?

The refrigerator does not store your home Wi-Fi password until you connect it. Look up the password on a phone or computer already on that network, or read it from the router label if it still uses the default. Then use the LG ThinQ app or the fridge’s Wi-Fi setup menu to join the same 2.4 GHz network many smart appliances require.

Follow these steps
Get the password from a device already online
On iPhone, open the Wi-Fi network’s info (or check a password manager) if iOS shows the password for a known network. On Android, open Wi-Fi network details/share QR if available. On Windows, open the connected network’s Wireless Properties > Security and reveal the key. On Mac, use Keychain Access for the Wi-Fi item if you use that Mac’s login.

Or read the router label
If the network still uses the factory defaults, check the sticker on the router or modem for Network Name (SSID) and Wireless Password / Key. If someone changed it and you cannot recover it, sign in to the router’s admin page from a connected device using the admin credentials on the same sticker or your ISP’s app.
You should see: You have the SSID and password, or you reset Wi-Fi credentials through the ISP/router app.
Start fridge Wi-Fi setup
On the refrigerator, open the Wi-Fi or Network setup option (often via the display or a Wi-Fi button). Prefer the 2.4 GHz network if your router shows two bands. Follow on-screen prompts or the LG ThinQ app’s Add Device flow.
You should see: The fridge lists your network or enters pairing mode for ThinQ.
Enter the password and confirm connection
Type the Wi-Fi password carefully, complete pairing in ThinQ if required, and wait until the fridge shows connected. Place the fridge’s Wi-Fi module side with a reasonable path to the router if pairing fails.
