Why am I not receiving bank verification codes by text?

When ordinary texts work but bank codes do not, filtering features, a wrong mobile number on the bank profile, or blocked short-code messages are the usual causes. Check Silence Unknown Callers and message filters, then confirm the bank has the correct phone number.

Follow these steps
Check unknown-caller and Focus filters
On iPhone, open Settings > Phone and turn off Silence Unknown Callers temporarily. Also disable Focus or Do Not Disturb that may hide notifications, then ask the bank to resend the code.
You should see: The verification text appears, or you confirm filtering was not the blocker.
Review filtered and spam message folders
In Messages or your Android messages app, open Spam, Filtered, or Blocked conversations and look for short-code texts from the bank.
You should see: You find the missing code, or confirm it never arrived on the device.
Confirm the phone number on the bank account
Sign in through the official bank app or website over Wi-Fi and verify the mobile number on file matches your current phone number, especially after a card replacement.
You should see: The bank shows the correct number, or you update it and can request a new code.
Use an alternate verification method
If SMS still fails, choose voice call, email, or in-app authentication in the bank’s official security settings when available.
You should see: You receive the access code through another official channel without sharing it with anyone else.
