How do I change a misspelled email address on a Roku account?
Answer
Roku's official help says the account email is changed at my.roku.com. Sign in, open Account information, enter the corrected email and confirm it, enter your current password, and select Save changes. The change is made on the website, not on the TV itself.
Before you start: stop right away if…
- Use only my.roku.com or the official Roku app for account changes. Ignore links in unexpected emails that ask you to confirm or re-enter account details.
Follow these steps
Sign in at my.roku.com
In a web browser, go to my.roku.com and sign in with the Roku account that has the misspelled email address.
You should see: You see your Roku account page after signing in.
Open Account information
Select Account information, as described in Roku's help article on changing account information. That page links to the account edit form.
You should see: A form opens with fields to enter a new email or password and confirm it, and a field for your current password.
Enter the corrected email
Type the correct email address in the new email field and type it again in the confirmation field so the two match. Roku's article describes entering a new password or email and confirming it, so you only need to fill in the email fields if you are not changing the password.
You should see: Both email fields show the same corrected address.
Enter your current password
Enter your current Roku account password in the field the page asks for. Roku's article says you need to enter your current password to save the change.
You should see: The current password field is filled in and the form is ready to save.
Save the change and check it
Select Save changes. Then open Account information again and confirm the email shows the corrected spelling. If the page shows an error, check that the current password is correct and that the new address was typed the same way in both fields.
You should see: The page confirms the change or shows the updated email address. If it still shows the misspelling, the change did not save and the form should be checked again.

Extra tips
What to look for: Whether you can sign in at my.roku.com, the email shown under Account information, and whether the Account information page accepts the corrected address and shows it after saving.
Before you change anything: Have your current Roku account password ready, since the change page asks for it. Write down the correct email address exactly as it should be spelled. Sign in only at my.roku.com, and do not share your password or any codes with anyone who contacts you about the account.
